Mermaid & Sea Witch Masks

Mermaid Mask

Copyright 2012, Julia Cellini

This mermaid inspired mask was my first design. It it very shimmery and reminiscent of water and the ocean.

Inspiration: The Little Mermaid by Hans Christian Anderson.

This mask was made from paper mache. It has three different types of glitter, a subtle shimmery clear coat that covers the entire thing, a blue shimmer paint around the edges, and silver loose glitter that adorns the seashells and around the eyes of the mask.

This mask makes a stunning display piece and looks great propped up in a vase filled with sand.

Here's a photo of the mask being worn!

Inspiration:

I love Faerie Tale Theatre's depiction of the Sea Witch from the Little Mermaid.
Shelley Duvall’s Faerie Tale Theatre
(This is a fantastic television show from the 80s!)

The sea witch mask accompanies the mermaid mask perfectly. It is both enchanting and grotesque. A great addition to any fairytale or fantasy display!
